For a few extra dollars you can sit where the goal judge used to sit, as one of hockey's longest-serving traditions is moving to the press box.

Work crews have redesigned the boxes at the Wachovia Center into 12 "goal judge seats" that consist of two rows of three seats behind each goal.

S.Moore looking for 20M from big Bert
Vancouver Canucks' general manager Dave Nonis was questioned on Thursday by Moore's lawyer, Tim Danson, and will face further questioning on Friday.
Sources tell TSN the process was delayed earlier this month because the Canucks wanted to postpone the examination to a later date in Vancouver. A judge ordered the original schedule be maintained, forcing Nonis to appear this week in Toronto.
Nonis was the Canucks' Sr. Vice-President and Director of Hockey Operations March 8, 2004 when Bertuzzi hit Moore with a punch from behind. Moore suffered three broken vertebrae and a concussion.
The first round of examination hit full stride last week with Danson's questioning of Bertuzzi in Kitchener, Ont.
A second round of examination will take place before a trial date is set, with a strong possibility that any refusals - information believed to be important to the case that isn't voluntarily supplied by those - will be argued in a public hearing.
It's believed Bertuzzi's lawyer, Geoff Adair has also conducted pre-trial examinations which includes the questioning of Steve Moore last month.
Moore is seeking a minimum of $20 million in damages.

Another blockbuster trade in the works?
Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe is reporting that San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson is considering a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes.
The deal would see goaltender Evgeni Nabokov headed to the ‘Yotes, and defenseman Ed Jovanovski coming to the Sharks.
As Dupont notes, Nabokov and Jovanovski come in at about the same cap hit, so the cap should not be a problem in getting a deal done. However, Nabokov’s no-trade clause may pose some concerns for the desert dogs.

Leafs were never interested in Peca
LOS ANGELES (Aug. 22) -- I'm happy that Mike Peca has found a place to play this coming season, and a bit saddened that he'll no longer be in the dressing room of the team I cover. Mike is one of the class acts in the game -- he endlessly makes himself available to chat with the media and he almost always has something to say. When he was healthy and playing a regular shift last season, the Maple Leafs were among the best penalty-killing teams in the NHL. The ghastly leg injury he suffered at Chicago just before Christmas -- which sidelined him for the remainder of the schedule -- was a key factor in Toronto missing the playoffs.
